Kevin Doherty was appointed vice-president of Corporate Relations in March 2009. Prior to his role with SaskPower, Doherty was division director with Investors Group, a senior management role. He also spent six years with Bayer Healthcare, serving as area sales manager and director of Professional and Government Relations. Doherty worked with GlaxoWellcome as manager of Provincial Relations and served the Saskatchewan provincial government as both chief of staff to the Minister of Finance and chief of staff to the Minister of Education. Doherty received a bachelor of arts from the University of Saskatchewan in 1985 and has furthered his education since that time in areas including strategic planning, leadership training and negotiation skills. He is also a certified financial planner (CFP). Doherty was president of the Abbotsford Executives Association and chair of the 2005 and 2006 Campaign Cabinet of the United Way. He has also served as a member of the University of Saskatchewan Board of Governors, president of the Saskatchewan Special Olympics, vice-chair of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation Board of Directors, president of the Regina Progress Club and member of the Regina Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
