Request Oversized Load Move

Moving large equipment, buildings or loads exceeding 5.18m (17 feet) or greater in height (oversized loads) can be dangerous, even when the move does not pass under or near power lines. If you’re moving oversized loads and have to pass under or near power lines, the move becomes much more hazardous. Contact with a power line can cause electrocution, power outages and fires.

Take all precautions to ensure your oversized load move is as smooth and safe as possible.

Written Permission Required for All Oversized Load Moves

All oversized load movers require SaskPower’s written permission before making the move, and require our assistance if power lines or electrical facilities need to be moved.

To get started, apply for your move. We’ll look at your route and send you an Authorization to Move form, which will let you know whether our assistance is required for the move. This form must be signed and returned prior to the move. Please note, all oversized load move applications must be completed by the mover (the person physically taking the load. The mover will receive the authorization to move, be accountable for our terms and conditions, and be responsible for paying the invoice.

    • When you don’t require our assistance for an oversized move, and you have multiple loads of the same height moving along the same route, we’ll send you one Authorization to Move form (valid for 30 days).

Five Working Days’ Notice

Please give us a minimum of five working days’ advance notice for moving an oversized load (more notice may be required depending on the height and width of the building or structure). If you’re unsure if the load you are moving qualifies as oversized, contact us.
