Rural billing & payment
Acreages
Customers on acreages are billed monthly. They receive a monthly rural residential
bill and have the same payment options as all residential
customers.
Farms
Farm customers can choose to receive either three quarterly
interim bills and one annual
read bill or 11 monthly interim bills and one annual read bill. Here's
how the process works:
Quarterly interims bills
- We calculate your payment by dividing your estimated annual electricity
use by four.
- We bill you for this amount every third month.
- Every 12 months we read your meter.
- You receive an annual
bill for any difference between your actual power use and the estimate
for the year. If your actual use is lower than your interim payments,
you'll see a credit on your bill. If your actual use is more than your
interim payments, you'll see an amount owing.
Monthly interim bills
- We calculate your payment by dividing your estimated annual electricity
use by 11.
- We bill you for this amount every month.
- Every 12 months we read your meter.
- You receive an annual
bill for any difference between your actual power use and the estimate
for the year. If your actual use is lower than your interim payments,
you'll see a credit on your bill. If your actual use is more than your
interim payments, you'll see an amount owing.
High bill at year end? If you purchase new equipment
or your power consumption changes significantly for other reasons, your interim
payments may not cover your actual power use. Avoid surprises by adjusting
your interim payment amount during the year.
