As Saskatchewan's sole supplier of electricity, SaskPower has long been entrusted to make responsible choices as our company strives to supply affordable, safe, reliable and sustainable power to our customers. However, at no time in SaskPower's history has it been more crucial to balance the requirements of our business environment with those of our natural environment.

This is especially true as we work to accommodate growing demand for electricity in the province, simultaneously facing the pending retirement of many of our generating units and the need to rebuild much of our transmission and distribution system.

For 2007, a major electricity supply decision represents an important milestone as we continue on a decades-long journey of revitalizing SaskPower's infrastructure. At the forefront of the challenges we face is the need to address global climate change and the imminent reality of a low-carbon future.
