Regina to Fort Qu'Appelle Power Line Rebuild Project

What we're doing

We’re investing in our aging power system by replacing a critical power line that runs from Regina to Fort Qu’Appelle.

Why we're doing it

The current power line built in 1955 needs to be replaced with stronger structures to ensure reliability for customers in the area.

Our progress so far

Construction began this fall and should be complete in the spring of 2018.

Minimizing the impact to you

We engaged an information session for landowners and rural municipalities to let them about the work taking place. We’ve also taking steps to reduce unplanned outages during this project, to minimize the impact on local businesses and operations. However, at times, unplanned outages may occur to ensure the safety of our workers and the public.

Respecting the local environment

We do everything we can to minimize our impact on the environment by avoiding sensitive areas, wildlife and wildlife habitats.  We closely follow the guidelines set by the Ministry of Environment throughout the construction process and when reclaiming the land once construction is complete.

Benefits to your community

With a total of 379 structures installed when construction is complete, these stronger structures will mean less outages caused by damaged poles. This project also provides employment opportunities during each phase of construction. See current opportunities .
