June 14, 2006, SPI officially opened our Centennial Wind Power Facility, which provides clean, renewable power to meet the needs of about 64,000 Saskatchewan homes. In total, wind power accounts for about five per cent of our province's total generation capacity — currently one of the highest percentages in all of Canada.
