
the E. B. Campbell power station was under construction and the Tobin Lake reservoir behind it was being prepared, SaskPower also helped fund an archaeological project near the site. Dr. Alice Kehoe supervised the excavation of a French fur trading fort located beside the Saskatchewan River. It was feared that much of the site might be destroyed if spring floods, backed up by the newly-created Tobin Lake, eroded the river bank.
