A big change happened this year. The Saskatchewan Power Commmission became a Crown corporation. The new corporation was called the Saskatchewan Power Corporation. Sound Familiar?

It is still the Saskatchewan Power Corporation today, but is commonly known as SaskPower. The other big change for Saskatchewan this year was that SaskPower started to use a new system to get power to as many farms as possible. This new system was called single-wire, ground return distribution and it helped reduce the cost of delivering electricity.
