Future Supply Considerations
Our objective is to ensure enough electricity to meet Saskatchewan’s needs at the lowest long-term cost. Our future supply strategy will include a responsible, sustainable mix of options that balance financial, environmental, and social considerations.
We plan to add innovative technologies to our portfolio as they become economically competitive with conventional technologies. Options such as wind, which have historically not been competitive, are now more attractive. These innovative technologies will assist us in meeting our responsibilities in an economic way without adding to our environmental footprint.
Life cycle assessment will provide information on the environmental performance of an option.
Our rates will reflect the cost of implementing new supply projects.
