Developing local suppliers

SaskPower has a long-standing commitment to source as many of its purchases of goods and services within the province as possible. Each year, we purchase about 80 per cent of our goods and services locally, resulting in annual revenues of more than $200 million to Saskatchewan suppliers and manufacturers.

Since our supplier development program started in 1983, SaskPower has purchased over
$5.1 billion dollars of goods and services from Saskatchewan suppliers.

Commitment to quality assurance

SaskPower's Quality Assurance staff work with local suppliers to ensure goods and services meet SaskPower and industry standards. Our staff will help guide the vendors prototype through the approval process. We will provide guidance with quality programs.
