Gas line installations
SaskPower inspects all gas installations where gas is burned, which includes all the piping and appliances that occur from the gas meter to inside your home. SaskEnergy installs and maintains your gas service and your gas meter.

Hire a professional
We strongly recommend that you hire a licenced and bonded gas contractor to help you plan, install, maintain, and service your gas-operated heating equipment or appliances.
Benefits to using a licenced and bonded gas contractor include:
- You get a qualified, experienced and trained professional with up-to-date knowledge of existing and new equipment.
- You get a contractor whose licence ensures they have a work performance bond.
- You get a contractor who employs licenced gas fitters.
- You get peace of mind in knowing SaskPower has recourse with licenced gas contractors, and your contractor is responsible for any necessary corrections.
If you decide to not hire a licenced and bonded gas contractor, you're putting your family's safety at risk. Also, you may forfeit your insurance coverage if you decide to hire someone who isn't properly certified.
