SaskPower is committed to informing customers about potential dangers created during the installation and operation of gas and electrical equipment. It's a job that takes our Gas and Electrical Inspections staff across the province to inspect gas and electrical installations. Inspections staff have also gone on-line, using Internet technology to help streamline the permit process for contractors and SaskPower.

They also work to educate the general public about safety practices, including the need for regular servicing of heating equipment in homes and businesses by a qualified professional. To support SaskPower's safety mandate, Communications and Public Affairs works closely with Inspections and other groups within the corporation to help build public awareness of safety issues via bill stuffers, public service announcements, safety brochures, and print and media ads.

We introduced a multimedia campaign, Let's Make it Safe, to help remind customers of the potential dangers associated with gas and electricity. We also partner with the Saskatchewan Safety Council to support their youth farm safety team, the Power Pac. This group of energetic teenagers delivers the farm safety message with a personal touch, speaking to thousands of students at rural schools across the province.
