Power Pac promotes safety to young people

SaskPower is committed to helping create a safer environment on the farm and in the home by increasing awareness about electrical safety.

SaskPower and the Saskatchewan Safety Council have developed a youth-based injury prevention program, Power Pac, to help reduce the number of children injured and killed in the province every year. Rural and urban Power Pac programs have been developed to meet the needs of these groups.

Power Pac's specially trained teen ambassadors speak to more than 30,000 students each year. Students take SaskPower's Let's Make it Safe message home to their families and friends, along with colourful brochures, posters and other materials.

The urban and rural Power Pac programs both feature electrical safety information. In place of farm safety tips, urban students learn about preventing childhood injuries in urban settings.
