Save Power

Mercury from old household thermostats should be safely collected and disposed of in an environmentally safe manner. Although the amount of mercury found in older household thermostats is relatively small, it can still be toxic to birds, fish, wildlife and humans.

Bring your standard, household wall-mounted thermostat to a SaskPower customer service office in Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, North Battleford, Yorkton, Moose Jaw, or Swift Current.

We will take the thermostat and dispose of it safely.

Bring the whole thermostat!

  • Bring the entire thermostat in for recycling – do not remove the mercury
  • Leaking and damaged thermostats (or any other products with mercury) will not be accepted by SaskPower
