General Service - Manufacturing & Food Processing

APPLICABILITY: To qualified manufacturing and food processing loads served through
SaskPower-supplied transformation.

Qualifying Criteria:

  1. The principal activity must be the production of processed food or finished or semi-finished goods for local or export markets, and the activity must be defined in the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code as manufacturing.  Not withstanding the latter criteria, granular fertilizer blending and cleaning grain to Canadian Grain Commission Export Standards are also considered eligible manufacturing/food processing activities.  Commercial printers primarily engaged in newspaper publication are ineligible for this rate.
  2. At least 51% of the processed food or manufactured output must be wholesaled.
  3. At least 51% of the total operating costs of the facilities in which the manufacturing or food processing operations occur must be attributable to manufacturing.
  4. The customer must sign SaskPower's "Certificate of Eligibility" document.

Recorded Demand - shall be the maximum kV.A demand registered during the current month;

    OR

For those services with approved time-of-day metering, the greater of the maximum kV.A demand registered between the hours of 07:00 to 22:00 Monday through Friday excluding statutory holidays
or 60% of the maximum kV.A demand registered at any other time during the current month.
