Shand Greenhouse Open House
Article by: Greenhouse Staff - April 06, 2010
Do you want to know more about SaskPower Shand Greenhouse, Shand Power Station and SaskPower’s environmental programs? Then come to the Shand Greenhouse Open House. It will be held on April 18, from 1-4 p.m. Shand Greenhouse is located 10 kilometres southeast of Estevan.
We hold an Open House once every two years. This event brings together local residents interested in landscaping and environmental issues to learn more about the Greenhouse’s operations.
This year, our special guest will be Patricia Hanbidge, who is a well known and respected horticulturist, speaker, teacher and consultant. Patricia will speak on three different topics: sustainable gardening, the best plant choices and living with a landscape that takes less work.
Patricia is a published writer in the horticultural field, including gardening books and information columns. Recently, she founded the Saskatoon School of Horticulture. She has been involved in the horticulture industry for over 30 years.
There will also be a presentation on Demand Side Management.
The Open House will also feature a mini trade show, tours of the Greenhouse and Shand Power Station, free tomato seedlings, door prizes and refreshments.
We are committed to strong environmental stewardship and performance.
