Everyone in Saskatchewan can help SaskPower deliver reliable, sustainable and affordable power.
What can I do now?
Our Save Power section has offers and advice to reduce your personal demand for electricity. The best part is, if you use less energy, your bill will go down as well.
What can I do in the future?
Looking forward, SaskPower is going to work with customers to reduce demand, but also to generate their own power.
- Small Power Producers Program: Offset your business' energy needs by generating up to 100 kW of electricity
- Green Options Partner Program: Sell between 100 kW and 10 MW to SaskPower
- Net Metering Program: Save the surplus energy you generate to be used at a later date when it is needed the most
Good for your wallet and the world
Every kilowatt-hour you save is money in your pocket and helps to prevent the environmental impacts of building more power plants.
Building new power plants costs a lot of money. The construction of new power plants can be deferred if the existing power plants can supply the energy needs of the province. However, the current power plants are working at capacity, so it is up to the province to reduce its demand on the existing power plants. Deferring building power plants also means that when the time comes to build a new power plant, power generation technology will be that much more advanced and efficient.
