Oilfield electrical service

Oilfield electrical service

Application process

Your application for oilfield electrical service must include the following:

Customer information — Clearly identify the person who will provide information for service design and installation and differentiate it from the information required for invoicing and monthly billing.

Type of service — Indicate whether you are applying for a new service or a capacity increase and specify service locations. If known, include any future load requirements for the site. This enables SaskPower to size your service to accommodate future loads. Avoid possible overloaded equipment and service interruptions by consulting with us about any load increases.

Land rights/issues — Indicate whether your lease agreement with the landowner allows SaskPower to install overhead and/or underground lines. If lease agreements do not contain provisions allowing SaskPower to install facilities, we must obtain easements from the landowner(s). Obtaining easements can delay the project schedule.

Load information — Detailed, accurate information on voltage requirements, single-phase or three-phase.

Required date for electric service — The date when your facilities will be ready for power.

Site status — The current status of the site to be serviced.
