SaskPower is helping to celebrate the power of music through its partnership with the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Band & Choral Festival. 

“SaskPower’s contribution to the festival is one of our largest sponsorships at present,” says Sharon Penner, festival public relations coordinator. “We are extremely pleased with this partnership and with the support SaskPower has provided to this year’s festival.”

SaskPower is sponsoring the Thursday Evening Vocal Jazz Choir Show, featuring Saskatoon singing group, Solstice. Audiences from Vancouver to Quebec have enthusiastically cheered this group, whose repertoire includes ballads, acapella songs, gospel music and many original arrangements.

“As an active corporate member, SaskPower directs close to $1 million annually to support programs and events across the province, may of which focus on youth and community development,” says Moose Jaw MLA and Minister of Labour, Deb Higgins. “With this emphasis on giving back to the communities it serves, it’s fitting that SaskPower is sponsoring this festival that has been such an important part of the Moose Jaw community for so many years.”

Moose Jaw has hosted the International Band & Choral Festival since 1949. The festival has provided musical training for thousands of musicians, many whom have gone on to careers in music.
