Going our way?

Bring power to the people. Working behind the scenes, you'll work on the machines that generate and distribute power. Some of the common careers are shown below, but the opportunities don't stop here. We also hire CADD technologists, welders, machinists and carpenters, just to name a few.

  • Power Line Technicians

Build and maintain the lines to keep power flowing across the province. You'll need your Interprovincial Power Lineperson Certificate and a valid Class 1A driver's licence.

  • Power Station Operators

Power Engineers Class 1 and 2 operate the boilers, generators and turbines that we all count on to keep us out of the dark. You'll need Grade 12 education plus a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineer's Certificate.

  • Engineering Technologists

Develop and design engineering plans and specs or construct and operate SaskPower facilities. You'll need an Electrical, Electronic, Civil or Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma.

  • Electricians

Install, operate and maintain SaskPower equipment and facilities. You'll need your Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician Certificate to start.

  • Industrial Mechanics

Maintain the generators at our power stations. With your Interprovincial Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate, you'll be ready to join the SaskPower team.
