With the warmer summer weather also comes longer days and shorter nights. Reset your outdoor lighting timers to come on later, at sunset, and turn off at sunrise. This will reduce your power bill and you won’t have to replace your bulbs as often.

If you’re replacing your outdoor light fixtures, consider motion sensors. They provide light only when it’s needed and, if you also switch to an energy efficient light bulb*, they can save you over $45 a year on your power bill.

* Always use the right bulb! Energy efficient bulbs are available for use outdoors and with motion sensors and photocells.
