Contractor Health and Safety

SaskPower is committed to maintaining a workplace in which safety is part of everything we do. It is SaskPower policy that contractors performing work on any of SaskPower’s facilities and work sites do so in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, bylaws, rules and standards.

The contractor health and safety section provides our contractors with the resources they need to remain safe while on a Saskpower job site. Contractors are required to familiarize themselves and their employees with SaskPower’s health and safety policies, standards associated with related policies, as well as health and safety forms and checklists.

Who is a contractor?

A contractor is a person, partnership or group of people (independent from SaskPower) that directs activities of one or more employees or self-employed people involved in providing SaskPower with services.

Contractor Health & Safety Information Package

The Contractor Health and Safety Information Package will assist the contractor in meeting the SaskPower health and safety requirements for controlling risks associated with contract work.

Contractor Handbook

The objectives of the handbook are to supplement contractor orientation and provide a resource for maintaining the health and safety of SaskPower contractors.

SaskPower Safety Rulebook

The Safety Rulebook provides rules, guidelines and direction for workers and supervisors to assist them in making sound safety decisions in their day-to-day work activities. It is also an important guide to the hazard and risk assessment and work observation elements of SaskPower’s Contractor Health and Safety Management Program.
