We’re adding 200 megawatts (MW) of renewable wind energy to the province by 2021. Adding this power to the grid will allow us to power up to 86,000 homes. This new wind farm’s being built south of Assiniboia.
Why we’re doing it
This is one of the ways we can meet Saskatchewan’s growing need for power. And it supports our goals to add more renewable energy to our supply mix.
How we'll build it
Potentia Renewables won the bid to build this project. They’ll own and manage the site while selling us the power produced.
We encouraged Potentia Renewables to work together with local communities. This would help them better understand:
- feedback from stakeholders
- impacts of land use
- environmental impacts
Keeping you informed
As an Independent Power Producer (IPP) you can contact Potentia Renewables regarding this project.
