  2. What is the CEA Sustainable Electricity CompanyTM Designation?

    The Sustainable Electricity Company™ brand is a designation established by the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA). This is based primarily on the ISO 26000 Guidance on Social Responsibility.

    SaskPower is 1 of only 9 Canadian utilities that have achieved the designation.

    An independent verifier confirmed that we:

    • demonstrate conformance to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard
    • demonstrate compliance with ISO 26000 Social Responsibility guidelines
    • have established a governance framework for social responsibility

    We also have to report on our sustainability performance in a transparent manner. That’s why we’ve just publicly released the SaskPower 2018-19 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Report.
