Help Plan Our Power Future

Saskatchewan is growing, and so are our power needs. Our goal is to provide safe, reliable and affordable power for everyone in Saskatchewan, today and into the future.

We’re investing in our power system so our communities and businesses can grow and thrive. That means keeping up to date on how much power people and businesses will need in the years ahead. By planning early, we can make sure we’re producing enough to support long-term growth around our province.

Sounds simple? It’s not! In Saskatchewan, we have a large land area, a diverse climate and different needs than other provinces.

No single power source can meet all our needs on its own. That’s why we rely on a mix of power sources, such as coal, hydro, natural gas, wind, solar, and battery storage, and are pursuing new technologies like nuclear power for the future. Using a mix of sources helps keep power reliable and secure now and into the future.

In October 2025, the Government of Saskatchewan released its Energy Security Strategy and Supply Plan, which supports an all-of-the-above approach to our power supply planning.
