BD3 Status Update: Q1 2026
April 09, 2026
During the first quarter of 2026 (January 1 – March 31), the carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility at Boundary Dam Power Station captured a total 232,809 tonnes of CO2.
CCS had had a very high availability during the quarter, running continuously aside from two brief compressor issues that resulted in less than half a half a day in which CO2 was not captured. During the quarter the facility had a daily average capture rate of 2,598 tonnes, with a peak one-day capture of 2,686 tonnes.
The next planned outage for CCS is currently set for May 2026.
