BD3 Status Update: September 2020
October 07, 2020
During the month of September, the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) facility at Boundary Dam Power Station captured 64,855 tonnes of carbon dioxide. The average daily capture rate when CCS was online was 2402 tonnes per day, with a peak one-day capture rate of 2578 tonnes. The CCS facility was online 88% of the month, coming offline for 86 hours due to issues with BD3 electrostatic precipitators. Preparations have begun for a scheduled October maintenance outage, during which several components will undergo cleaning and maintenance.
