Vice-President, Power Production

Howard Matthews became Vice-President, Power Production in June 2013. That year he also became president and CEO of SaskPower International.

Over his career he has held many roles. First, as an electrical engineer in 1989. He also served as director at Poplar River Power Station in Coronach, Saskatchewan. From July 2014 to June 2015, he was acting vice-president, Power Production.

Before SaskPower, Mr. Matthews was a computer programmer. He had worked for the Saskatchewan Research Council, Northern Telecom, and Saskatchewan Mining and Development Corporation. He has also worked as a field engineer for Husky Injection in Toronto.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan
