Steam Blows Underway

Steams blows are a one-time process to clean out excess debris in our lines and ensure the newly installed turbine runs smoothly. Although we’ll use a silencer to help keep noise low, noise levels may still be slightly elevated during this time. You may also see a plume of steam at times.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We’re building a new 377-megawatt (MW) natural gas plant in Moose Jaw's Agri-Food Industrial Park. We’re calling it the Great Plains Power Station.

The new power station will:

  • provide power for about 377,000 homes in Saskatchewan
  • deliver reliable power to you, while keeping rates as low as possible
  • support renewable power generation and coal retirements
