Downtown Moose Jaw

We’re strengthening power in downtown Moose Jaw.

SaskPower is investing $3.6 million to upgrade the power system in the downtown business district. This work will improve power reliability and support future growth, helping ensure customers have the dependable power they need.

The project includes:

  • Installing new underground electrical equipment
  • Upgrading existing power lines
  • Rebuilding infrastructure in alleyways using current design standards, including a mix of overhead and underground systems

Construction is expected for July to mid-October 2026. This map show the areas where work is taking place.

Why This Work Is Needed

  • Much of the power system serving downtown Moose Jaw is older and nearing the end of its useful life.
  • Some alleyways rely on older designs that are harder to maintain.
  • Replacing this equipment will improve power reliability and support continued growth in the downtown area.
