This is our second utility-scale solar project in the province. Construction will get underway in 2021. When complete, it will bring 10 megawatts (MW) of power, or enough to power about 2,600 homes.
Why we’re doing it
Our goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% from our 2005 levels by 2030. This means we need to add more renewable energy sources. Solar power is an important part of this plan. In coming years, we have committed to adding 60 MW of solar power to the grid.
How we'll build it
SaskPower has selected Kruger Energy Saskatchewan Solar to build this project. They’ll own and manage the site while selling us the power produced.
The facility will be located in northeast Regina.
Kruger Energy will work together with stakeholders throughout this project. This will help them to better understand:
- feedback from stakeholders
- impacts of land use
- environmental impacts
Keeping you informed
