Serving Customers During COVID-19

Quotables:

  • We know COVID-19 is impacting our customers so we’re taking steps to help during this uncertain time.
  • Effective immediately, SaskPower won’t be disconnecting residential customers for non-payment.
  • We’ve also stopped all active collections and will not be applying load limiters at this time.

The health and safety of our employees and customers is SaskPower’s top priority. We know COVID-19 is impacting our customers so we’re taking steps to help during this uncertain time. Here's how we’ll continue to serve you.

  1. What’s SaskPower doing for customers?

We know self-isolation, quarantine or an outbreak may impact customers financially. So effective immediately, SaskPower won’t be disconnecting residential customers for non-payment. We’ve also stopped all active collections and won’t be limiting electrical supply to customers at this time.

  2. Does this mean I don’t have to pay my bill?

Please continue to pay your bill if you can. However, if the pandemic has created a hardship for you, please call us at 1-888-757-6937 for flexible payment arrangements. Please note – there may be increased wait times to our call centre during this time.

  3. What if my power was disconnected before the pandemic?

Please call us at 1-888-757-6937 to make plans for reconnection. If you have a load limiter on your residence, we can also make arrangements for removal of the load limiter.

  4. Will I have to pay my bill after the threat of COVID-19 has passed?

Customers will be responsible for the power they use. If you need more time paying your SaskPower bill once the COVID-19 threat has passed, please call us at 1-888-757-6937.

  5. What else is SaskPower doing to help customers during this time?

We’re changing the way we work so that we can keep the power on for the people of Saskatchewan. We’ll continue any outside work that doesn’t involve direct contact with customers. We’ll also be continuing any essential work where an employee is required to enter an occupied residence. To protect our employees and customers we’ll be practicing social distancing and other safety guidelines if we need to enter a building.

We’re also asking customers to provide self-meter reads to help minimize the number of SaskPower visits to customer homes.

Please note that SaskPower suspended disconnections to residential power service for non-payment until March 31, 2021.
