Employees working inside the Carbon Capture facility.

During the month of May, the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) facility at Boundary Dam Power Station captured 67,694 tonnes of carbon dioxide. The average daily capture rate when CCS was online was 2,184 tonnes per day, with a peak one-day capture rate of 2,423 tonnes. The CCS facility was online 99% of the month, coming offline for 7 hours due to an inadvertent compressor outage. On June 7 the CCS facility will start a scheduled 14-day outage to inspect and clean the equipment as well as perform some upgrades.
