Net Metering After November 2019

This section displays what you paid on your last bill plus any cancelled payments or late payment fees. If you still owe money from your previous bill it shows in this section.

This section displays your electricity consumption meter reading for this month and last month. The difference between the two is the amount of SaskPower electricity you consumed (in kilowatt hours). This does not include electricity consumed from your own system.

This section displays your electricity generation meter reading for this month and last month. The difference between the two is the amount of electricity you sent to the SaskPower grid. This does not show the total electricity generated by your system. For example if your system generated 800 kWh but you consumed it all, this section would show 0 kWh generated.

We calculate how much you will pay for the power used last month in this section of the bill breakdown.

If your city or town collects a municipal surcharge their fees will appear here. The municipal surcharge was put in place to compensate urban municipalities for giving up the right to establish their own power distribution systems.

The Municipal Surcharge tax is calculated using the “total electrical charges” amount by the applicable % as determined by the municipality.

This section displays net meter generation credit found in the electrical charges. The amount of electricity consumed is converted into dollars at the appropriate rate to determine what you owe or is credited in dollar value.

This section displays federal carbon tax which is displayed in kWh on your bill. The Federal Carbon Tax is charged if the power you used this month is greater than the amount you generated or have banked in previously generated electricity. If excess electricity generated is less than the electricity consumed, there will be no kWh credit carried forward.
